Miras Launches Trustless Crypto Inheritance Platform — No Lawyers, No Custodians, Fully On-Chain

Non-custodial estate planning for Bitcoin and Ethereum using Safe multisig and staked verifiers

April 28, 2026 — Miras (miras.global) today announced the launch of its trustless crypto inheritance platform, giving cryptocurrency holders a way to pass digital assets to heirs without relying on lawyers, custodians, or centralized services. The protocol uses a 2-of-3 Safe multisig architecture and staked on-chain verifiers to ensure funds remain under the owner's control during their lifetime and transfer securely when the time comes.

The crypto industry has long lacked a reliable, decentralized solution for estate planning. Billions of dollars in digital assets are estimated to be permanently lost each year because holders die without sharing access. Miras solves this with a protocol that requires no trust in any single party — not even Miras itself.

How It Works

Miras uses a 2-of-3 Safe multisig structure: the owner holds Key A, their designated heir holds Key B, and Key C is encrypted and escrowed by the protocol — never usable alone. No single key can move funds independently.

When an inheritance claim is initiated, staked verifiers — randomly selected and subject to slashing for misconduct — must reach the owner to confirm their status. A configurable waiting period (default 3 months) gives the owner time to cancel any claim via an on-chain objection. If conditions are met and the waiting period passes without objection, the protocol enables the valid quorum path, and funds move only with the required signatures.

"Crypto was built on the idea that you control your own money. But until now, there was no trustless way to make sure that control passes to the right person when you're gone," said Emre Sokullu, founder of Miras. "We built Miras so that your crypto inheritance plan is as decentralized and secure as your crypto itself."

Key Features

  • 2-of-3 Safe multisig: Owner, heir, and protocol each hold one key — no single party can move funds alone
  • Staked verifiers: Randomly selected, slashable for misconduct, required to confirm owner status before any claim proceeds
  • Configurable waiting period: Default 3 months; owner can cancel any claim with an on-chain objection
  • Automatic release: When conditions are met, funds transfer through the valid quorum path with required signatures
  • Heir Readiness Kit: Optional offline USB guide for heirs; keys never stored in plaintext
  • BTC and ETH support: Works with both Bitcoin and Ethereum assets
  • Non-custodial and self-sovereign: No lawyers, no custodians, no centralized control
  • Security-audited: Protocol has undergone security review
